Building recognition within your community is an essential tool for gathering support for local organization and grassroots movements. Our upcoming Grassroots Media Training webinar explores how to create relationships with media outlets and how to take advantage of these platforms for building campaigns.

Local media is an extremely efficient way to build recognition and support within your community. Creating strong relationships with local reporters, knowing how to pitch stories to newspapers and blogs, and earned media such as letters to the editor, are just some of the ways that you can interact with local media outlets to promote your campaign.

This webinar discussion will provide in-depth answers to questions about how to use media to promote your campaign, give you proper tools to improve your recognition within your community, and teach you how to get a start on creating relationships with local media outlets.

We are thrilled to present the following speakers:

Kimberly French - Writer and editor of various publications including Salon, UU World, Tikkun, and Utne Reader. MCAN Advocate and organizer working to bring change to her community in Middleborough where she is the chair of the Community Preservation Committee.

Kim Teplitzky - Strategic Campaigner for United Steelworkers. She is also the former Northeast Deputy Press Secretary at the Sierra Club.
