We’ll start with a harvest potluck, where Mary O'Donnell will provide the main dishes, with the rest of us bringing salads, beverages and deserts—all organic and local, if possible. This event is sponsored by Sustainable Milton.

2.       Do you have an upcoming event and/or goal to announce, discuss, or report progress on? 

3.       Do you know of a source of chairs?

4.       Do you have a source of solar-powered lighting? (if not, for the meeting, we’ll move our chairs close to the greenhouse which has lighting)

Also plan to visit the Sustainable Milton-David Kelman green open house on Saturday morning, Aug. 15:

On August 15 from 10-12. I will be having a green open house at my house located at 9 Crown Street, Milton, MA. Over the years, I have fully insulated my house using blown in insulation and air sealed the house. The house also features a wide range of passive devises and solar photovoltaics. Henry MacLean, AIA,LEED AP  and Laurie Macintosh of Next Step Living will be available to advise and talk about sustainability in small scale residential projects.

This free event has been designed to show how a homeowner can lower his/her energy and water usage without designing a passive house or doing a deep energy retrofit. We will be talking about programs such as Mass Save and various solar projects. Use of native plants to help shade the house and attract wildlife to the house will also be discussed. We will discuss the economic aspects of using green features in the house.
