12/8 Renewables Campaign Launch in Boston

On December 8, from 7:15 to 9:00, Boston Climate Action Network is hosting a Renewables for All in Boston campaign Launch

Please join Boston Climate Action Network (BostonCAN) for refreshments and informative presentations about expanding access to renewable power for every household in Boston.

People want green energy, and there is a simple way for everyone to get it. We CAN go from access to green power for some, to green power for all--at no extra cost.

Massachusetts law allows any city council to choose a new electricity supplier for all the electric customers in the city and they can specify that at least some of their power will come from clean, fossil-free sources. Everyone in Boston can get renewable electricity, even if they can’t put a solar panel on their roof or switch to wind power. We can cut Boston’s greenhouse gas emissions – fast. (If a resident or business wants to opt out, however, they can.) This is called “Community Choice Aggregation” and many other towns and cities around us have already taken advantage of this law. Now it's time for Boston to step up its game. We just have to convince the City Council to vote “yes” for climate justice and clean energy.
